I well and truly missed this question when it would have helped you, I am sorry!
But for the future:
General rules are to drink plenty of water, eat well, sleep plenty, and don’t leave it too late to start (spread that revision out!).
Other than that, it’s important to find what works for you.
My technique is to figure out what topics there will be questions on and, if there are, say, 2 questions, to pick 3 of those topics (the one’s you find most interesting) to revise. Once you have your notes all together, formulate an answer to the question that you’ll be able to adapt once in the exam hall.
For example, I had a question on Voluntary Risk Taking and its benefits in my Risk and Society exam this semester… Once I’d done the reading for the topic, I formulated a general structure to the theorists I’d discuss and remembered them thus-
Silly (Simmel) Cat (Celsi) Fell Right Not (Newmahr) Left (Lyng).
I can’t remember who F and R were… I know one of them talked about drug use and risk.
ANYWAY. That’s how I do it, but everyone has their own system.
Most important is to resist the urge to bury your head in the sand.
I hope this helps for next time!
